The Community Children's Council Office (CCCO) partners with parents and organizations to ensure services benefiting children with special needs. In conjunction with CCCO, LDAH educates parents and community members on a broad array of special education topics.

This project is necessary to provide training opportunities for parents of children with special needs to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to more effectively participate in their children's education. These trainings are offered to local communities and cover a broad array of special education topics. This includes content deliverable in a mixture of interactive, multi-media and multi-sensory approaches and are kept current with revisions and updates as needed. Trainings seek to empower parent and community members through a variety of topic-specific workshops and follow-up supports.
