 Text Box:   The PTI staff attended a two day-conference during the week of January 25, 2010 in Washington DC.  The Alliance Children’s Mental Health & Emotional Behavioral Disorders Institute was sponsored by the National Parent Technical Assistance Center.  The two-day conference was filled with a variety of breakout sessions from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder to Legal and Educational Issues Related to Juvenile Justice.  The last day was Parents as Collaborative Leader’s Training sponsored by PACER.  Both conferences provided incredible information for the PTI staff to bring back to Hawaii.       In addition, the PTI staff received two invitations to attend events voluntary.    The first event was the National Coalition of Parent Centers (NCPC) Reception which gave our staff the opportunity to network, and exchange ideas with other PTI Centers.  The most rewarding event was the Reception on the Hill 2010 sponsored by NCPC and the PACER Center which gave the LDAH staff the opportunity to meet members of the 111th Congress. This event was surrounded by excitement and high energy with media coverage from all around the world due to the President’s State of the Union address.  This landed the LDAH staff an inclusive opportunity to meet Diane Sawyer, ABC World News Anchor
